Who we are

Techies Africa operates the website techies.africa and a suite of technology platforms including Thatsign, Mailyte, Informly, Devpilot, Opsycle, Bellefest, Reapwork and Lynkas. We are registered in Nigeria (Lekki, Lagos) and the United Kingdom (Catford, London).

What we collect and why

• Contact and enquiry data: Name, email and message content when you fill in a contact or enquiry form. Used solely to respond to your request.
• Usage data: Pages visited, time on site and referrer, collected in aggregate via privacy-respecting analytics. No individual profiles are built.
• Technical data: IP address, browser type and device type for security and fraud prevention. Retained for 30 days.
• Communications: Email correspondence you initiate. Retained for as long as the relationship is active.

Legal basis for processing

We process personal data on the basis of:

• Legitimate interests — responding to enquiries, operating and securing our platforms.
• Consent — where you have explicitly opted in to communications.
• Contract — where processing is necessary to deliver a service you have engaged.
• Legal obligation — where required by applicable law in Nigeria or the United Kingdom.

How long we keep your data

Contact enquiries are retained for two years after the last correspondence. Usage logs are deleted after 90 days. We do not retain data beyond the period necessary for the purpose it was collected.

Who we share data with

We do not sell personal data. We may share data with:

• Service providers — infrastructure, email and analytics vendors operating under data processing agreements.
• Legal authorities — when required by law in Nigeria or the United Kingdom.

All third-party processors are bound by contracts requiring them to handle data in line with GDPR, the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and the UK Data Protection Act 2018.

Our servers are operated in the European Economic Area and, where applicable, on Cloudflare's global network. Cross-border transfers are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses and, for UK data, the International Data Transfer Agreement.
